Get Ahead Over Break

As soon as you come back from break we will be reading the novel, The Narrative of Fredrick Douglass.  If you would like to be ahead of the game please listen to the audio version of the novel on YouTube or borrow an audio version at your public library.

Extra Credit Opportunity Over Christmas Break

If you would like to earn extra credit over Christmas break please read the directions below:

Keep a journal for each day over break.  In this journal write the date of your entry, at least a paragraph that has information about that day, and a picture from that day.

Remember, journals are similar to memoirs. You don't have to record your entire day step-by-step.  You may record something that really sticks out to you or something that comes to your mind and you want to express.  It is a thinking exercise.  You must have at least 7 recordings to be able to submit your assignment.  This must be done well to count.  Pictures can be anything from your own photographs, drawings, clippings, or anything else that represents you.  This is a creative writing assignment.

Happy New Year!!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful

Students will be given a list of books to choose from for their 1st book report project.  The novels are varying grade levels, therefore, students have flexibility with what novel they feel comfortable reading.  Students are responsible for their own novels.  Below are links to the guidelines for the project and also the outline which students will be required to fill out as they read their book.  Mini lessons will be provided for each part of the outline, therefore please don't get overwhelmed!
